| MY HUSAND AND I WANT TO RENEW OUR VOWS FOR FAMILY AND FRIENDS. MY HUSBAND GOT ACTIVATED FOR THE MILITARY SO WE DID NOT GET A CHANCE TO HAVE A REALLY WEDDING OR RECEPTION. WE HAVE DECIDED TO RENEW OUR VOWS AND ARE NOT SURE WEITHER WE SHOULD REGISTER FOR GIFTS OR NOT? |

| It would be improper to register for gifts for a vow renewal ceremony. Most guests do not bring gifts to such ceremonies unless they coincide with a milestone anniversary, such as the 25th or greater. |

How long ago were you married?
If you want to celebrate with friends your marriage and it is quick after the wedding (within 1-2 years) I think it would make MUCH more sense to make a reception style party rather than a vow renewal.
I would agree that most guests will not bring gifts to such a thing. and the more you make it like a real wedding, with ceremony, reception, the whole nine yards, the more they will feel pressured to bring a gift, etc. |
